Well, this is long overdue, but I am Eric, although I also go by Random (don't ask!). I am currently 23 years old. I just finished up my school-based teaching internship, and tomorrow I will get my Master's degree in Education. I'm looking for a teaching job right now, so I've been doing that and bumming around lately.
I have a younger brother, Alex, who is 12, and thus doesn't post on either the JKOC or TF.N boards. So he'll come with me to events when he can.
I've been a fan since I was 14 (can't believe the last 9 years have gone by so fast!), and have long-awaited the completion of the saga, as I'm sure every other fan has. I have been a founding member of this group since its inception in March of 2002.
I currently only have a Clone Wars Anakin costume (which can also be changed up to be just a generic Jedi costume), although once I land a regular job and start getting some nice checks I'd like to get a Revenge Of The Sith Anakin Skywalker costume, a Darth Vader costume, and some armor (still debating about what kind, though I think I might go with AOTC clone armor).
To all our new members, welcome and enjoy yourselves!

I dunno where else to put this, but since this is a thread about me, I suppose here is just as good as anywhere else.
I'm glad to have met many of you and gotten to know you well over the years. I consider some of you some of my closest friends. But a new path lies before me. As many of you know, I've been looking for a job since getting my master's in May. I'd like to stay in the area, but I've been offered a job in a place called Danville, Virginia which is too good at the moment to refuse. I believe new teacher orientation starts August 16th there, so I'm going to be moving quickly.
I'll try to maintain contact via the boards. I'm also thinking about hooking up with the Greensboro, North Carolina group because I think that's the closest group at about 45 minutes away from Danville.
It's going to be tough leaving everything I've ever known behind, but this seems like the best option for me at this time. I figure if I don't like it, all I have to do is survive this year and I can always move back.
I'll keep you guys updated.

Glad to hear you're getting a job in your field; it's just a shame it's out of the state. Good luck, I hope everything works out down there for you

Congrats on the job... man, now that's two people I know who are leaving to teach on the east coast. The other one just left yesterday.
Good luck, and I hope you like it.

Thanks, everybody. If you're headed down to Florida or are passing through Virginia/North Carolina, just let me know and you'll be able to stay with me instead of having to get a hotel. Although this may be a problem as I currently do not have an apartment, condo, or house...
I did get an offer in the area. However, this job pays considerably higher, and even if I have to pay $400/month on rent, I'd still be pocketing more than if I stayed with my parents for free and taught at the school here. It'll leave me with some extra money for costuming and collecting. If nothing else, this can buy me some time to try to find another comparable job around here for the next school year if I end up not liking the place.

Hey Eric, best of luck to you lad. Best of luck with everything. One thing that you may already know about where you're headed...the Virginia job may pay more but the cost of living there is a lot higher than most places too. I was looking for a place there last year when I got the government job in D.C. and rent is insane. Anyway though, again, best of luck to you.

Thank you, Gregg. Actually, the cost of living down there is something I've looked into. Here's a map of Virginia:

As you can see, Danville is way south, right above the words "North Carolina." Nowhere near the DC area. According to the information sheet I got, you can get a decent house for only $98,000 or rent a decent apartment for around $400 a month. When I was down there for my interview, I asked my dad what gas was here, and he said it was $2.20 something per gallon; down there it was $2.07 a gallon.
