We've seen them all in movies, EU books/comics, and video games...but which of the Rebel or Imperial starfighters is your favorite? They refer to ROTJ as the "creature feature" because of all the various types of aliens created, but it was also the showcase for all the classic and many new starfighters.

BTW, all 5 choices are featured on my bookshelf (Action Fleet)

X-Wing

Y-Wing

A-Wing

B-Wing

TIE Fighter

TIE Interceptor

I love the X-Wing starfighter! While alot of ships come and go, get refitted or replaced...the X-Wing has been the 1 starfighter to stand the test of time. There are faster ships, better shields and weapons...but IMO it's the perfect blend of offense and defense.

Yeah, the X-Wing is the stallwart...the Interceptor is the sleek scarry imperial fighter...

But I've always had a fondness for the Y-Wing. Not sure why really. I never had an A-Wing or Interceptor as a kid, so that might have something to do with it. The Y-Wing never got shot down in my universe. Conversely, the X-wing was the sacrafical lamb of my fleet, it never made it out Sad

I like the TIE Interceptor- fast and dangerous looking. Too bad the TIE Bomber wasn't listed... I'd have voted for that instead Cool

X-Wing... always was my favorite from the classic trilogy ever since I saw ANH for the first time.

I thought about that...but you never actually SEE a TIE-Bomber in the space battle of ROTJ. Since this was the ROTJ board...I was kinda going with what is in the movie.

I could have sworn there was (at least) one in the final space battle in ROTJ...then again, I haven't watched the movie in quite a long time, either Razz

Most definately the X-wing, followed closely by the Y-wing. I also really liked the T-47 Snowspeeders. Too bad we never saw more of them.

The TIE Bomber was specifically that, a bomber. Its not well equipped for dogfighting; its not a high speed craft like the interceptor. The Bomber is most useful for operations like the asteroid search in ESB, with large targets and facing opposition starfighters. They would've been eaten up at the Battle of Endor.

But, they would have been perfect for tearing up the capital ships with proton bombs.

My vote goes to the B-wing. Something about the design that I just love. Rotating cockpit, ion cannons. It just seams so much more advanced then anything else.
