I noticed the Feb. meeting was cancelled due to weather. Please let me know if there area other meetings/events planned! I'd love to finally meet some of you IRL! I have an RSS feed to this site that displays on my desktop daily, so if the meeting is posted here I should be able to find it! Thanks so much!

RSS = really simple syndication -- a very simple mechanism for websites to provide "headline" feeds.. If you have an RSS Reader (google RSSBandit for a good free one), you can "subscribe" to sites that provide RSS feeds. This gives you basically "headlines" for all the articles posted. Browsers like Firefox and I think even the latest Internet Explorer have some half-baked support for RSS to allow you to subscribe to RSS feeds directly from the browser (in fact go to IE 7's help index and type in "RSS" you'll get 4 topics on RSS).
One of JKOC's RSS feeds is www.thejediknightsofcl.../news2.php (just plug that address into your RSS reader). This gives you the "news". The dragonfly code (dragonfly is what this website runs on) for the RSS stuff is so-so, but it seems to not always returning all the posts.
There's also an RSS feed for forums but its really unreliable and doesn't support knowing which user you are so you can't get updates on non-public forums.
Remember, you did ask

Am I the only one who thinks it sounds too complicated to be called really simple?!

No RandomMenace your not. Ok I know I dont say much here. And I know I've only bin apart of the JKOC for a year now. But I with every one ells. This is crazy. I'm sorry but to have a meeting on St. Patrick's Day. Is just crazy. every were you go is going to be packed. And its all the way out in Strongsville. I know much of the members here live on the west sids of cleveland. But I'm I the only one here who thinks that its a little bit far to have a meeting. I dont mean to be a downer about this. Idk maybe I'm looking at the real picture about all this. But I know its a little to late for me to be speaking up this late about this. And I know that what I'm saying wont really count for much. I gess I'm just putting my two cents in. But If I may. Does any one ells maybe think we could re-schedule the meeting for maybe the satureday affter? Just a thout. Forgive me for my venting.

| I know that what I say doesn't mean anything because I don't attend meetings anyway, but the reason they are having it at this time and place is because there will be so many members in town because of the parade.

the proximity of the members on that day for the parade is exactly why we picked that day...

Are you down with the fluffy quickness?
1337: n. 1. Nestled between 1336 and 1338, 1337 is commonly known as a number, or for the more advanced; an "integer"
2. Often misused to satisfy a laymen's ego, the self-proclaimed 1337 will misuse the title, pretending to hold "Xtr3m H4x0r" capabilties while in fact anonymously hassling n00b's with better things to do than play mindrot such as Everquest and Warcraft. |
