This is a major debate on Starwars.com. What do you guys think? Just so you know, I mean created using the force. So please, no colorful comments. Laughing

I think that Plagueis taught sidious. And when Sid killed plag, Sid realized he needed an apprentice. But, he saw into the future and felt the need to make an ultimate one, hence Sid making Anakin. Plag wouldn't have much to do with anakin being a need of his because he had sid.

Well the option that says the force(according to QUi-gon) would be the same as what the emp said, "He even knew a way to use the force to make the medicloreans to create life" or somewhere along those lines.

Not necessarily...I think Palpatine was using the story of Plagueis, whether he was the "apprentice" or not, to lead Anakin to the conclusion that it was the Sith who created him. Later on, when Anakin pledges himself to the Sith...Palpatine admits he doesn't know the secrets of Darth Plagueis (only together does he hope to uncover the mystery).

I think "the Force" created Anakin...without it being manipulated by any Sith, or his self-proclaimed (but not really) student.

It was the Force itself that did it. I agree with Geoff in that I think Palpy was just playing mind games with Anakin to lure him into the Dark Side. He was trying to impress him and make the Sith more appealing, because Padme after all, was going to die according to his visions.

I guess we can't believe a word ol' Palps is saying. Until recently I didn't realize how much manipulation he put into luring Anakin to ye not-so-merry-olde dark side.

Well when he said to Anakin "the power to cheat death...but if we both combine our powers I'm sure we can master it." Somwhere along those lines.

Yeah, they show this a lot better in the book of Ep. III. They didn't do a good job of showing it in the movie.
