I will buy them to have them for history sake but I do not see myself anytime soon ever opening these. I mean even though the new Special Edition still have a lot of mistakes why would I want to watch something that looks worse and sounds worse. Star Wars is about great sound and great visual effects...and of course the story too (I knew Krash would correct me if I did not say that). To me this was a way for Georgre to end bootlegging and of course...get some more money! But of couse...I am a sucker...and since they say limited I will buy them to sit on my shelf and collect dust but I will keep watching the remastered ones until George puts out the new set...c'mon George...I am counting on you to fix those tie fighters and Wampa arm!

I wish they'd've released these ones before, so that I'd have gotten them instead of the special editions. I kinda like the stuff before they "fixed" it all up, so, in other words, if I had the money, I'd buy them, but I don't, so I probably won't get them at any time soon.

Sorry but I own the Special Edition video tapes of 4-6 and then for Christmas I got the new the DVD's. I like them the way they are and don't really care that they have gone back and changed something’s.

man I wish I can be that bold...unfortunately I am a weenie and I have to have them JUST IN CASE they are never released in that format ever again...which 10 years later I am sure they probably will on HD or Blu-ray or whatever the new format is...

it is sad too because they will just sit shrinked wrap on my shelf...what a waste of money...George owns me Sad

I already have the originals on DVD. Not going to get them again. Especially when there are things I don't already own on DVD coming out, like the digitally remastered Voltron.

I would have liked it had they released the unaltered versions WITH the SE (like this version is suppoed to have); but there's no point in complaining over what has already happened. I think it'd be cool to have the movies the way I saw them as a kid. I'm just not gonna rush out and buy all three this Tuesday (if at all)

I think there's something (good) to be said for the 77, 80, 83 theatrical releases. By today's standards, the effects may be lacking...but remember these movies are what started it all. I think it's cool to recognize and preserve the original visual effects.

At least you don't have to buy the whole set all at once, pickup a movie here and there between now and late December (they're only out for a limited time)

They are still two disk sets, Original version on one, SE on the other. Each two disk set packaged and sold separately.

I am definitely getting them. I've had them on order for some time, but that's the backup--I'll be storming Costco as early Tuesday as I can make it.

Of course, there's always the chance they won' t have them. They didn't carry the latest rerelease of the Peter Jeackson's awful Lord of the Rings films locally, and those films were a huge success in this town--way bigger than E3.

In which case, I shall set course for Target or Best Buy; because, as Master Yoda said: "Always two there are. A master and an backup. No more, no less." Wink

I mean, we won't likely get another shot at the Original Versions, at least not until the 30th AAnniversary box next year!

there's that and then the ultimate collectors edition containing all 6 movies origional release and special edition copies, plus outakes, making of documentaries, commercials for the movies/toys and other merchendice, the complete audio score for the saga, plus anything else that will help seperate me fome my money. i'm dreaming here but you know its comming.

now yes i'll buy these probably not on tuesday. but i'll have to act fast to decide if i want the ones that come with action figures(target exclusive i beleve) the collectors tins, teh ones that come with books(wall world exclusive) or whatever Best Buy has as an exclusive.or to just buy the movies by themselves and leave it at that.
