WOW?were are you getting the info about Revvan having to go fight the acient sith. I have read the novle and played both games they say nothing about anciet sith!

thats the problem with the game, the storyline isn't openly expressed. i'll humor you.

when revan is on malachor v at the end of the mandalorian wars, he discovers the ancient sith (it's a sith empire [kind of like palpatine's] that is planning to invade and completely estroy the galaxy. revan must stop it). that is why he defects to the dark side, in order to gain enough power to topple the threat of the sith. however, everyone is too blind to see his true motives, so they think he is just an evil sith lord trying to kill everything.

revan utilized both the dark and light side. since he was so strong, his anger and hate did not blind him to his true goals, and thus was able to build a philosophy based on the Force, not just the strict jedi or the hateful sith. the holocron he constructs he leaves on lehon, which is the holocron bane finds. revan isn't explained in bane's book, because it's about bane haha.

at the end of kotor, when he leaves for the unknown regions, he goes to find the ancient sith, since he failed (after the jedi erased his mind, etc etc)
