I picked up SW: Republic #77 Thursday, and finally had a chance to read it this morning. Vos battles his inner demons while he's fighting Sora Bulq, Aayla Secura in action and that little surprise at the end with Khaleen (I can see a storyline based just on that!).

I enjoyed Republic #77. I had a bit of deja vu from Darkness where they talk about striking without anger, without fear, etc. but it was a good parallel not an irritating one. Did anyone else get the impression that Quinn's choices were meant to be a foil to Anakin's. To show how a true Jedi would react under these circumstances. Since this was originally suppose to come out before ROTS we would see what Quinn chose to do then watch the movie and see what Anakin did when presented with similar choices. Aayla of course was awesome. The way her character ahs developed over the entire series has been awesome. I will miss reading about her unless DH decides to go back somethime.
Yes Mike, I see a future storyline with that little plot point with Khaleen. Do you think it will be comics or do you think they will work it into a book?
We saw Aayla die in ROTS, Quinn dies in comic version but not the movie so he technically could be alive and Tholme is not mentioned at all. Somehow I see him surviving. He had remarked to T'Ra Saa about expecting to die first. It would be ironic to have him one of the few survivors.
Tales was so-so. I was glad to see the Darca Nyl storyline end. i though it was a nice thouch that he wasn't really a Jedi. I'm glad he found peace in the end. It was sad to realize how much potential this series had and how far short it fell most of the time.

I started my comic collection with republic #76. Waldon Bookstore did not know when #77 is due.
I don't think Vos died just yet. . . . Although he might in the comic, But when Anakin meets up w/ obi-wan late for the briefing, he told Anakin everything is going on and Vos moved his troops to Bos Pity.
Is messa missin' somethings here?

Issues 1-75. And the fact that the series is going to end soon.

Hey, it would give them an excuse to write another novel- Quinlen Vos and Khaleen, a few of the other Jedi who survived the initial purge and scattered. It looks like Vos will play a part in at least several more issues of Republic before they close up the series.

From what I understood, Vos was supposed to die in the purge of the jedi, in a tank on Kashyyyk, after he was mentioned in ROTS...at least that is where the comic puts him. Apparently they cleaned stuff up at Boz Pity quickly and he was able to reinforce Yoda's troops there. But then George decided to not have the scene shot. Bad for us, but good for Republic (or whatever is replacing it), maybe.
I would love to see a storyline involving his thoughts afterward, him in hiding with Kahleen, and maybe even Tholme staying with him in a planet out on the rim somewhere...That may even make a good novel if they used vader to hunt Tholme and finding Vos and Company there as well. OH OH OH...maybe their kid is female, and Vader captures her, and the emperor names her mara....
Just a thought...

Well, since the movie didn't show anything about him, I sure hope the comic does.
Whats' your opinions on having Dark Horse comics coming out with the republic series as a box filled series? Example: according to
www.darkhorse.com/prof...sku=10-818
Anakin and Obi-wan series won't be out till november.

Those are volumes. What I meant to say were volumes. my fault.

is it cheaper by the volume or per Each?

trades are usually in the $20 range and 1 comic is aboub $3 so i think its about even. but since it sounds like your having trouble finding comics i would go for the trades.

I finally went down to Recess and picked up issues #33 & #34 of SW: Empire yesterday. Not too bad. Nice to see the Jaabimi pulling their heads out of their collective backsides after all those years.

| I picked up Empire #34 over the weekend. The best thing I can say is its finally finished. I can't find where I put a couple of the issues so I haven't been able to go back and read them together. I thought the ending was fairly good. I liked Nolan telling Luke he that he had redeemmed the Skywalker name on Jabiim. The he got right what Anakin had gotten wrong. And of course one of the best lines in the series "What else did Ben not tell me?"

Hello? *echoes* I guess you need to have interesting comics to discuss to have some action in here.
I picked up Empire #35 and X-Wing Rogue Squadron #1 last week. Empire was a Vader one shot. It was a different plot line than normal, less violence and chopping people up and more psychological drama. We see the cunning side of Vader they usually don't show. Best line "A pity ... You were well on your way to becoming a model officer." X-Wing starts out ok. I had trouble distinguishing characters from each other and had to resort to identifying them by their clothes. But otherwise I enjoyed the issue. Is that black armour at the end an EU reference I'm missing?
Of course this is all just filler until tomorrow when the first of the Empire's Sunbar series comes out.
