| More on "Obsession" #4 later. Right now I'm just wondering how Dark Horse managed to name a character Master Bayts.

I decided not to buy the Grevious comic. It didn't catch my attention when I skimmed it. I'll wait for the TPB and get it from the library.
Republic continues to heat up, literally since Tholme is blowing up the Seperatist's cooling systems. Quinn's obsession is blinding him to what he should be doing. I have a bad feeling he's not going to be too happy with himself at the end of the next issue.

I updated the Upcoming list on the first page. Its getting a little annyoing to constantly change the dates as they push the publishing dates back. It is not good business practices. At this rate they are wrapping the pre-ROTS Republic series the day before the movie comes out.

I did a double take on that one too. I wonder what the reaction in the offices were when they finally realized what made it past the Editor.
Whats your opionion on Grevious?

I think the only reason I picked it up, was if I didn't, I'd lose some information with this cross-over craze.
To be honest... I can't stand Grevious. Yep, I said it
::Looks up, no lightning bolt::
At this point, he looks like just another CGI character that belongs on an anime cartoon fighting demonic ninja creatures who have a penchent for kinky sex acts. If GL put in a couple of chicks wearing CSG outfits when Grevious is around, it would complete the illusion.
Yeah, he's a super-powered killing machine that wades through clone troopers and Jedi like it ain't no thang with his four lightsabers...but honestly, it's a bit too much.

Skip it. Two Jedi and a Padawan set out to assassinate Grievous against the command of the council.
I think they're gonna fail.
I'm actually with Michael on Grievous. They've made him out to be too powerful. Espcially since... well, that would be telling.
Uninteresting story and poor art. Wait for the trade, then get it from your library.

I picked up the ROTS comics...read 1-3, 4 hasn't come out yet. Not too bad. That's all I'm gonna say
BTW, Samurai: Heaven and Earth... since Manhatten Comics shut down, I've had a helluva time locating this title. I now get my comics at Recess out in North Olmstead, and it hasn't been on the order sheet for the last two months; have any of you seen it lately?

Trust me when I say the RotS comic is horrible. Very nice art, but the writing is bad.
Issue #3 of Samurai is out. I don't know when issue 4 is scheduled to ship.

Oh, I never said it was great; it gave me an idea of what to expect, but that's about it. If the movie doesn't impress me...well...we'll see what happens

Republic #75 and Empire #30 came out last week. In spite of what DH says there is no sign of Tales #23. Empire #31 and Obsession #5 were suppose to come out this week but they are not on the shipping list. No sign Of Saumrai #4 either.
Tholme is looking somewhat ragged but I like his meditation and how he views Aayla and Quinn through the force. The opening fight scenes with Aayla and Quinn are great as usual but Quinn is up to no good this issue. Even after all he has done I was surprised at how quickly he justified trying to kill Tholme. All because Tholme tried to get him to think about what he was saying. Makes a nice parallel to Obi-Wan and Anakin in Padme's apartment in AOTC. It was about as effective too. So do you think he's dead or do we need to see the body first?
I admit I'm not following Empire to closely right now. Most of my attention is on building up to ROTS. I do wonder if this will end with more tradegy for Jabiim or will Luke be able to help them start on the path to healing?
EDIT: stupid spelling

I just picked up another part of my monthly comic order today.
Republic #75: Lots of action...plenty of lightsaber duels...Anzati assassins plying their trade. I've given up trying to figure out what side Vos is on...it's like he flips a coin every morning..."Heads...Republic...Tails...Seperatists"
Empire #30: Not too bad... one scene they show a hanger bay with speeder bikes and Republic gunships (yeah, I know these guys have been fighting for decades to liberate their planet). Dantels is one well drawn character Now that the Empire is preparing to assault the planet, it'll be interesting to see how this ends.
I finally read the last ROTS comic... not too bad. It won't spoil the movie for me, though (I'd read the novel first if I wanted to ruin it for myself!)

I picked up Tales #23 and Empire #31 last week. I need to read Tales again to get a better impression but overall I liked the issue.
Empire is another Joe Coronney issue. Needless to say the artwork was great. At first I thought this was only a filler to make up for a delay in publishing but the last couple of pages tie it in neatly with the current story. I thought the story was interesting. The trap Vader sprang at the end caught me by surprise. I was attributing what he did in the beginning to the usual "Evil Dark Lord behavior" so I liked it when there was more to it than that.
Even better news, Sunbar will be back in #36-40.

Yeah, I was reading this wondering where the Jabiim story went. When they had that break with "Darklighter" they said, Hey, this isn't "Darklighter."
The story was good, though. Like you said, Vader's trap was nicely sprung and Joe's art was great. The problem with Joe's art, though, is I keep looking for him to slip Roseanna in there somewhere so I always pour over every page seeing if she's in the background or something.
Has anyone gotten Star Wars Visionaries? It's a series of short, non-continuity stories written and drawn by ILM production artists. I was looking at it in a bookstore and it looked great, I just didn't pick it up because I figure I can get it cheaper from my comic guy.

This one's to everybody, what are some decent comic book stores on the west side? I've got some old early 90's Star Wars series from Dark Horse (amongst several Alien vs. Predator series) to wrap up where I'm missing like 1 issue in each. There was a place in North Olmsted and one in Fairview Park but they're long gone.
