Ok, can someone sum up the last 10-20 years of books for me.
I mainly want to know what's happened to the main characters.
Like is Han and Leia still married, does R2 still have a foul mouth, ect ect...Just the main who's still alive, dead, ect ect

Lando tried several business ventures, almost hocks up with this one woman, named Tendra, from the Corellian trilogy books. He later goes into the battle droid business (these things are cool)
Chewbacca dies saving Anakin Solo, during one of the first attacks by the Yuuzhan Vong
C3PO has a mid-life crisis, trying to preserve his "humanity" asks Data (from TNG) for advice 
Vong (as they're known)...come in, conquer the Republic one planet at a time, all the way till Coruscant has to be evacuated)
Our heros become "rebels" again, fighting both the Vong and the New Republic politicians.
That should get you started! Or you could read "Star Wars: The Essential Chronology" ...they cover everything up until NJO.
