Join the fight against heart disease, as The Jedi Knights of Cleveland support the American Heart Association's "Heart Walk" on Saturday, September 18th.
The AMA "Heart Walk" is being held at The University of Akron Athletic Field House. They are in need of volunteers for: set-up, water stations, finish-line greeters, distribution of certificates and post-walk food/beverage. Most Volunteers can start as early as 7:00AM, yet most of the work is from 9:00AM-11:00AM. AMA needs a list of volunteers (inluding name, e-mail, and phone number), contact Krash if you are interested in joining this good cause. NO donations are required, but everyone is welcome to support the walkers, and help fund the fight against heart disease if they wish to.
Due to the success of our efforts with "Bowl For Kids' Sake" the question of having people in Star Wars costumes has been mentioned by AMA staff. Any costuming would have to get approved by AMA officials...otherwise, JKOC shirts will do just fine!
"Since 1994, the American Heart Association has invested over $1 billion in important cardiovascular research. Recently, $18.12 million of that has gone to fund 107 studies in Ohio alone." - AMA Heart Walk website |
